Learning French
 

Our program offers a unique opportunity for students to learn French and get to know the Polynesian culture firsthand. Through the experiences, such as workshops with local families, cultural excursions, and language exchanges, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the language and the local way of life.

 

By engaging with native speakers in real-life settings, students will sharpen their language proficiency, improve their conversational skills, and have a better understanding of the French language's nuances and subtleties.

Furthermore, our program is designed to align with international college and university standards, offering transferable credits and meeting language requirements for graduation. Students can earn academic credit while immersing themselves in an enriching cultural experience, providing a valuable addition to their academic journey.
 

 

Program Overview:

 

1. FLE Certification: Our language program is led by FLE-certified teachers, ensuring high-quality instruction and recognized proficiency certificates upon program completion, aligned with the CEFR scale.

 

2. Group Division: Students are divided into three groups - beginner, intermediate, and advanced - based on initial assessments and coursework recommendations. This ensures personalized instruction tailored to individual proficiency levels.

 

3. Language Classes: Language classes are conducted usually in the mornings for approximately 3 hours, focusing on developing all five language skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening, and cultural competency.

 

4. Instruction Materials: We provide comprehensive and dynamic learning materials to engage your students and we are happy to tailor these materials to your program's needs.

 

5. Assessment and Evaluation: Throughout the program, students engage in regular homework assignments, written tests, and oral examinations to assess their progress. A mid-trip evaluation provides valuable feedback, complementing the final assessment.

 

6. Cultural Excursions and Activities: Through themed séjours In the afternoons, students participate in a variety of cultural excursions and activities, exploring the heritage and natural beauty of Moorea. From art workshops to gastronomic tours and nature hikes, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Program Outcomes:

 

1. Develop Proficiency in the French Language: Our program aims to equip students with the necessary language skills to communicate confidently and effectively in French. Students will enhance their vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and fluency. Participants are assessed using recognized certifications, providing tangible evidence of language proficiency.

 

2. Gain Cultural Understanding and Appreciation: Our program introduces students to the culture and heritage of French Polynesia. Through interactive cultural activities, excursions, and engagements with local communities, students understand Polynesian traditions, customs, and ways of life. 

 

3. Strengthen Language Skills: Our curriculum targets all aspects of language learning, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and cultural competency. Students develop language skills essential for effective communication through language classes, interactive discussions, communication tasks, and exposure to real-world contexts.

 

4. Build Confidence in Communication: As students engage in real-life communication scenarios, they build confidence in their ability to express themselves in French. By participating in group discussions and engaging in cultural exchanges with native speakers, students gain the confidence to communicate.

 

5. Foster Personal Growth and Intercultural Competence: Beyond language skills and cultural understanding, our program promotes personal growth and intercultural competence. Students develop adaptability, resilience, empathy, and open-mindedness, essential for navigating today's world.

Cultural Immersion

 

Situated in the heart of the South Pacific, Moorea offers an exceptional opportunity for students to explore and experience Polynesian culture. From the moment students arrive, they are engaged in the local community life, providing an authentic learning environment.

 

Throughout the program, students can explore various aspects of Polynesian traditions, including music, dance, cuisine, and daily rituals. They'll participate in traditional ceremonies, learn to play indigenous instruments, master the art of Polynesian dance, and savor the flavors of local cuisine prepared with fresh, tropical ingredients.

Living in Moorea allows students to fully immerse themselves in the rhythm of island life, gaining practical knowledge of Polynesian customs, traditions, and values. They'll have the opportunity to engage with native Polynesian speakers daily, practicing their language skills and deepening their understanding of the local culture.

As students explore the island's landscapes, beaches, and crystal-clear waters, they'll develop an appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural heritage of French Polynesia. Through interactions with local artisans, storytellers, and elders, they'll gain insights into the historical, social, and environmental significance of Polynesian traditions.

From language workshops to cultural activities, community engagement projects, sports, yoga, meditation, and excursions, every aspect of the program is carefully curated to provide students with the best experiences.
